First TV Role for Victoria (The Perthshire Advertiser)
The programme is a collaboration between BBC Scotland and BBC Canada, and centres around a young Canadian girl, Marnie McBride, who lives in Edinburgh with her father, played by Jason Connery.

Marnie visits an antique shop and finds an old shoebox which contains four magical creatures. Rik Mayall, Simon Callow, Alan Cumming and Siobhan Redman provides the voices for the animated characters.

Victoria (26) plays Marnie's dead mother in the series.

"I make a surprising amount of appearances for a dead person", said Victoria.

"Jason Connery said the set ended up looking like a shrine, as it was covered in my photographs."

Shoebox Zoo is the first major piece of television work for Victoria, who attended Kinross Primary and Kinross High Schools, then went to university to "do something sensible" but found that too frustrating so pursued her childhood ambition to become an actress.

After studying acting in Manchester Victoria became a professional actress in 2001.

"My only other television work so far has been Crimewatch and an independent feature film, but I've been fortunate to have been working consistently in theatre."

Victoria performed in the Steamie at the Oldham Coliseum before returning to Scotland to perform at Edinburgh's Traverse and the Tron in Glasgow.
